Career Opportunities
The Medical Assistant program prepares individuals to assist physicians in their offices or other medical settings. Medical Assistants perform a wide range of duties in the physician’s practice. The Medical Assistant is responsible for medical and surgical asepsis, taking vital signs, assisting the physician with examinations and surgery, administering ECG’s, and administering medications. The business/administrative duties include patient reception, appointment making, recordkeeping, filing, bookkeeping, insurance handling, typing medical correspondence and transcription, and microcomputer applications. Laboratory functions include specimen collection, performance of basic laboratory tests, and microscopic work.
Program Description
Upon completion of this 24 week program, graduates will receive a course completion certificate.

CPR/Health Requirements
Current Healthcare Provider CPR is required prior to clinical placement. A satisfactory medical examination must also be documented and on file with the School prior to clinical placement.
