If maintaining EMT-1 certification requirements are met within 6 months of expiration, new certification period begins day after expiration date.
If maintaining EMT-1 certification requirements are met greater than 6 months of expiration, new effective and expiration dates are issued. |

NREMT Certification Exams are now computer based and are administered by Pearson Vue. NREMT Certification examinations are intended to evaluate the competence of EMS practitioners at a variety of levels. The tests address content areas defined and validated by subject-matter experts, educators, and individuals working in EMS fields. You must have registered for your examination(s) with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, following the procedures for your specific state, and received an Authorization to Test from NREMT prior to scheduling your testing appointment.
